Take a direct and constructive step to ensure your country's delegates are informed
and can make a decision that supports global karst conservation.

Double-check the contact information on the website of your country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Environment Ministry.
Look for a department dealing with "International Environmental Affairs," "Multilateral Environmental Agreements," or "UNEP."
If specific names are not available, a general departmental email is a good start.

2. Prepare a concise document (1-2 pages)
Download a suggested template here
Include the Official Draft Resolution Name: Karst Ecosystems for Global Water, Biodiversity, Climate Resilience, and Economic Development submitted by the Republic of Indonesia.
Provide a brief explanation of what karst ecosystems are and why they matter to your country specifically.
Attach the Proposal to Strengthen the UNEA-7 Resolution on Karst Ecosystems prepared by the NGO MG. Access it here
Include a clear "Ask": "We respectfully request that [Your Country] reviews the draft and considers joining as a co-sponsor and/or voting in favour."
Some considerations:
While UNEA-7 Draft Resolutions are not public, your focus should be on highlighting why karst protection is a critical national issue in your country. The Indonesian draft text is accessible to your Delegation via the e-deleGATE platform. Use the official Resolution name and the attached proposal—noting its consultation with karst and speleology experts.
Timing is Critical: UNEA-7 will happen on December 1-12, 2025. Delegations are already negotiating positions. Act promptly for maximum impact.
Leverage Your Network: If you are part of a national speleological organization or scientific organization, consider having the organization send a similar letter on official letterhead, which may carry more weight.
